Project summary
In my work with Obsidian, the company noticed that many users weren't fully tapping into the app's capabilities. To bridge this gap, they hire me to created "Obsidian School"—a comprehensive resource to help users master the platform. Through in-depth tutorials, guides, and community support, I empower users to unlock the full potential of Obsidian, ensuring they can effectively organize their thoughts, manage projects, and enhance their productivity.
My Contribution
As the UX Designer for the Obsidian School initiative, I aimed to create a platform akin to YouTube for Obsidian users, enabling them to create and upload clips that showcase innovative ways to use the app. My responsibilities included conducting user research through surveys and interviews to identify the challenges users faced with Obsidian.
Additionally, I designed the platform’s structure and user interface to ensure an intuitive and engaging learning experience.
Users and needs
Users have highlighted a strong need for better organization tools, particularly to streamline note management and simplify the learning curve for new users. They’re looking for an intuitive system that makes it easier to categorize, search, and retrieve notes efficiently. Additionally, features like an AI assistant, Google integration for faster account access, improved device synchronization, and enhancements to the mobile version of the app are also top priorities to improve overall usability and accessibility
Outcome statement
I established a monetization system to incentivize users to create unique and helpful content, leading to increased engagement on the platform. Feedback indicated more users were sharing innovative clips, enriching the library with high-quality tutorials. This fostered a strong community through enhanced discussions and collaboration. Ongoing feedback has allowed me to continuously refine the platform, ensuring it evolves to meet users' needs.

Onboarding process
According to my research, mots of the users have difficulties in the beginning. It is not that the app is difficult, just the mental patterns are different, so the users cant find similarities.
In response, from a product perspective, i decided to create a feature for them to communicate and learn how to use the app more easier.
Obsidian school - Explanations
Each slade in Obsidian explanation animation offers a concise, user-friendly explanation of the task at hand, simplifying the learning process and accelerating user comprehension.

The design is create this way to be user friendly for all people. The video can be open in bigger deiplay, the text is auto rerod and have trascription for deaaf people

Time Management
I should identify the most important and urgent tasks, focusing on them first to prevent feeling overwhelmed and to use my time wisely. By align my daily activities with long-term goals, i aim to ensured that my tasks contribute to achieving broader personal and professional objectives.
Goal setting
I prioritize clarity in my goal-setting, understanding that the more specific and well-defined my goals are, the easier it is for me to work towards them. Additionally, I have to ensure that my goals are realistic and attainable, recognizing that setting overly ambitious objectives can lead to frustration and burnout. Because of this, I spend more time on the project than is necessary.
